European Markets Show Strength Amid Tariff Talks
European stock markets closed higher on Tuesday, buoyed by optimistic comments from European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde. She suggested there's room for negotiation with US President Donald Trump regarding tariffs, alleviating some market concerns. Lagarde also reassured investors by stating the ECB does not foresee a recession in the euro area.
Key Performers in the Market
The DAX index climbed 0.41%, with Sartorius leading the charge by surging 5.45%. The Euro Stoxx 50 and CAC 40 also saw gains of 0.53% and 0.57% respectively, with L'Oreal emerging as the top performer on both indices after a 6.30% jump. Across the channel, the FTSE 100 advanced by 0.64%, thanks to a 3.58% rise from Bunzl.
