In a strategic move to bolster its global presence, IndiGo has announced the appointment of Michael Whitaker, former Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) administrator, as an independent director. Whitaker's extensive experience in aviation and government affairs is expected to significantly contribute to IndiGo's ambitious growth plans.

A Storied Career in Aviation

Whitaker's journey in aviation spans over three decades, beginning as a lawyer with Trans World Airlines in New York. His notable tenure includes serving as the deputy administrator of the FAA under President Obama and leading Supernal, a Hyundai company focused on developing electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicles.

Strengthening IndiGo's Global Footprint

Rahul Bhatia, IndiGo's promoter and MD, highlighted Whitaker's diverse industry and government experience as a key asset for the airline. "His focus on efficiency, operations, and air safety will reinforce IndiGo's commitment to operating at the highest levels," Bhatia remarked.
