Spotify Announces Global Subscription Price Hike Excluding the US: What You Need to Know

Spotify Technology S.A. is gearing up to increase its subscription fees across various global markets this summer, as reported by the Financial Times. The changes are expected to take effect as early as June, with individual subscriptions in Europe and Latin America seeing an increase equivalent to €1.

US Market Remains Unchanged

Interestingly, the United States, Spotify's largest market, will not experience any price adjustments this time around. The last price modification in the US occurred in July 2024, with the monthly subscription rate rising from $9.99 to $11.99 since the service's launch 14 years ago.

Market Reaction

Following the announcement, Spotify's shares saw a 2.61% increase, trading at $622.51 by 2:05 pm ET.
