Indian stock exchanges, including the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the BSE, will remain closed on Thursday, May 1, 2025, in observance of Maharashtra Day. This regional holiday commemorates the formation of the state of Maharashtra in 1960.

Trading Suspension Details

Trading across all segments, including equities, equity derivatives, currency derivatives, and securities lending and borrowing (SLB), will be suspended for the entire day. However, the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will operate on a modified schedule, with the morning session closed but the evening session open for trading in commodities like gold, silver, crude oil, and agricultural products.
