Microsoft's Pledge to Europe

In a significant announcement from Brussels, Microsoft Corporation President Brad Smith emphasized the company's dedication to adhering to European technology regulations and its proactive role in safeguarding the continent's cybersecurity.

Five Pillars of Commitment

Smith outlined Microsoft's five "European digital commitments", which include fostering an AI and cloud ecosystem, enhancing digital resilience, ensuring data privacy, maintaining cybersecurity, and boosting competitiveness through collaboration with both large and small enterprises, as well as governmental and non-governmental sectors.

Strengthening Trans-Atlantic Ties

Highlighting the importance of international cooperation, Smith remarked, "As a multinational company, we believe in trans-Atlantic ties that promote mutual economic growth and prosperity." He also welcomed the recent agreement between the Trump administration and the European Union to halt further tariff escalations in pursuit of a reciprocal trade agreement.
