Expert Insights on Market Trends
VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Investments Limited, highlighted the market's resilience, driven by sustained FII buying. "After the sharp market correction triggered by Trump’s reciprocal tariffs and the Pahalgam terror strikes, April has closed with above 4% gains in Nifty," he said.
Global Market Influence
US equities moved higher, with Dow and S&P 500 achieving their eighth consecutive positive session, supported by robust performance from technology giants. Asian equities showed modest gains, and gold prices were heading towards their largest weekly decline in over two months.
Investment Strategy
Given the current high valuations and geopolitical tensions, Vijayakumar advises investors to increase the cash component in their portfolios while remaining invested.
