Located near one of the busiest sea trade routes with a natural deep draft of nearly 20 meters, the Vizhinjam port is set to revolutionize India’s maritime logistics. It aims to reduce logistics costs for Indian manufacturers by 30-40%, significantly boosting the country's export competitiveness.

Future Investments and Economic Impact

With plans to increase capacity to 5 million TEUs by 2028 and further investments of Rs 20,000 crore in the pipeline, the Vizhinjam project is expected to create over 5,000 jobs and invigorate the local economy, showcasing India's strategic and bold maritime ambitions.
