Google Faces Major US Antitrust Trial Over Alleged Online Advertising Monopoly Starting Sept. 22

Google's Antitrust Trial Set for September 22

In a significant development, United States District Court Judge Leonie Brinkema has scheduled Alphabet Inc.'s Google for an antitrust trial concerning its advertisement policies on September 22. This decision follows the revelation in court hearing documents that Google has been found in violation of the country's antitrust laws.

Allegations of Monopoly in Online Advertising

The judge's investigation concluded that Google has established a monopoly in the online advertising markets, leveraging its dominant position in the technology sector. "For over a decade, Google has tied its publisher ad server and ad exchange together through contractual policies and technological integration, which enabled the company to establish and protect its monopoly power in these two markets," Brinkema stated in the court documents.
