Google Faces Landmark US Antitrust Trial Over Alleged Ad Market Monopoly on Sept. 22

Google's Antitrust Trial Date Set

In a significant development, United States District Court Judge Leonie Brinkema has scheduled Alphabet Inc.'s Google to face an antitrust trial concerning its advertisement policies on September 22. This decision came to light through court hearing documents released this Friday.

Allegations of Monopoly Power

The judge's ruling underscores findings from the investigation, accusing Google of breaching U.S. antitrust laws. The tech giant is alleged to have monopolized online advertising markets, leveraging its dominant stance in the technology sector to stifle competition.

"For over a decade, Google has tied its publisher ad server and ad exchange together through contractual policies and technological integration, which enabled the company to establish and protect its monopoly power in these two markets," Brinkema stated in the court documents.
