Volvo Faces an 11% Sales Decline in April with EVs Taking the Hardest Hit

Volvo Cars announced an 11% decrease in sales for April, totaling 58,881 vehicles compared to the same month last year.

Sales Breakdown by Vehicle Type

Mild hybrids and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles led the sales with 32,496 cars sold, despite a 5% year-over-year decline. Electric vehicles (EVs) suffered a significant 16% drop, with sales falling to 26,385 units. Fully electric vehicles were hit the hardest, seeing a 32% reduction, while plug-in hybrids experienced a modest 2% decrease.

Top Selling Models

The XC60 emerged as the best-selling model in April, with 19,887 cars sold. It was closely followed by the XC40/EX40, which sold 13,783 units, and the XC90, with sales of 9,746 cars.
