Adani Power has successfully secured a contract to supply 1,500 megawatts (MW) of electricity to Uttar Pradesh at a competitive tariff of Rs 5.383 per unit (kWh) for a duration of 25 years. This announcement was made by UP's energy minister AK Sharma.

Competitive Bidding Process

The deal was finalized through a competitive bidding process, with Adani Power emerging as the lowest bidder. The company quoted a fixed charge of Rs 3.727 per unit and a fuel charge of Rs 1.656 per unit, bringing the total tariff to Rs 5.383 per unit.

Strategic Move for Uttar Pradesh

This procurement is part of Uttar Pradesh's long-term strategy to meet its growing energy needs and ensure future energy security. The state is projected to require an additional 10,795 MW of thermal power by 2033–34.

Adani Power's Growth

Adani Power Limited reported a significant increase in power generation, reaching 102.2 billion units during the financial year 2024-25, marking a 19.5% increase from the previous year.
