DoorDash to Acquire SevenRooms in a Landmark $1.2 Billion Deal

In a move that underscores its ambition to dominate the global food delivery and restaurant technology market, DoorDash Inc. has announced a definitive agreement to acquire SevenRooms, a New York City-based restaurant technology company, for approximately $1.2 billion in an all-cash transaction. This acquisition is poised to close in the latter half of 2025.

Enhancing the DoorDash Commerce Platform

"This acquisition is a testament to our commitment to enhancing the DoorDash Commerce Platform, enabling merchants to serve their customers more effectively across all channels," stated Parisa Sadrzadeh, DoorDash's Vice President for Strategy and Operations. "With SevenRooms, we're not just expanding our portfolio; we're empowering local businesses worldwide with innovative tools to attract more guests, foster direct customer relationships, leverage cutting-edge CRM, and enhance profitability through intelligent marketing strategies," she added.

A Strategic Move Following Financial Success

The announcement comes on the heels of DoorDash's impressive financial results for the first quarter of fiscal 2025, showcasing a 21% revenue jump to $3 billion. This strategic acquisition follows closely after DoorDash's agreement to purchase Deliveroo, a British food delivery giant, for £2.9 billion, further solidifying its position in the competitive global market.
