Turkish Airlines Cancels Flights Due to Regional Unrest

In response to the escalating tensions between Pakistan and India in Kashmir, Turkish Airlines announced the cancellation of all flights to Pakistan for Thursday, May 8, and Friday, May 9. The airline cited "ongoing political unrest in Asia" as the primary reason for these cancellations.

Pakistan's Airports Temporarily Closed

The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority has temporarily closed airports in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, attributing the closure to "operational reasons." Authorities expect the airports to reopen by 6 pm local time (1 pm GMT).

Asian Airlines Reroute Flights

Several Asian carriers, including Korean Air, Thai Airways, Singapore Airlines (SIA), Taiwan’s EVA Air, and China Airlines, have been compelled to alter their flight paths to Europe and parts of Asia to avoid Pakistani airspace amidst the current situation.
