Heightened Security Measures Disrupt Air Travel

A source revealed to PTI that this was part of broader security enhancements, which also led to the temporary closure of 32 airports across northern and western India.

Operational Impacts and Passenger Advisories

Between 5.00 am and 2.30 pm, the cancellations were evenly split between 30 departing and 30 arriving flights. This follows 138 flight cancellations the previous day at the same airport. Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) assured that operations continue normally but warned of potential delays due to enhanced security measures.

Passengers are advised to arrive earlier to accommodate longer security processing times and to cooperate with airline and security staff to ensure smooth operations.

Extended Suspensions and Future Talks

Civilian flights at 32 airports, including key locations like Srinagar and Amritsar, will remain suspended until May 15. Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts are underway, with top military officials from both nations scheduled to talk again on May 12 following a ceasefire agreement.
