Flight Cancellations Amid Rising Tensions
Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, major airlines including Air India and IndiGo have announced the cancellation of flights to several airports in northern and western India on May 13. This decision comes as a precautionary measure to ensure passenger safety.

Air India has suspended services to Jammu, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot. Similarly, IndiGo has canceled flights to Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Leh, Srinagar, and Rajkot. Both airlines are closely monitoring the situation and have promised to keep passengers updated.
Impact on Air Travel
The temporary closure of 32 airports in northern and western India has led to over 300 daily flight cancellations, severely disrupting air travel. Although these airports have now resumed operations, the ongoing tensions continue to affect flight schedules.
Security Measures and Alternative Routes
Enhanced security protocols and Pakistani airspace restrictions have forced Indian carriers to take longer alternative routes for international flights. The Aviation Minister is set to meet with airline representatives to discuss the operational and financial implications of these disruptions.
Passengers are advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport and to expect longer security processing times due to heightened measures.
