Union Aviation Minister Calls for Normalization of Airline Schedules
Union aviation minister Ram Mohan Naidu has directed airlines to resume normal operations from May 15, following the expiration of the Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) that temporarily closed 25 segments of air traffic service routes. This move aims to restore full operations across all 32 airports affected by the restrictions.

Meeting with Airlines: Naidu held a crucial meeting with airline representatives, emphasizing the importance of ramping up operations to pre-restriction levels. Airlines responded positively, with plans to gradually reinstate flights, including international services from Amritsar.
Impact on Airlines and Passengers
Several airlines, including Air India and IndiGo, had to cancel flights due to drone activities, but are now working towards resuming their schedules. SpiceJet announced the resumption of Haj flights from Srinagar, highlighting the airline's role in facilitating the travel of about 15,500 Haj pilgrims this year.
Support for Airlines: Naidu also inquired if airlines required any assistance in restoring services, with some requesting exemptions from Route Dispersal Guidelines (RDG) to accommodate the unique challenges posed by the closures.
Gratitude Towards Armed Forces
The aviation community expressed its gratitude to the armed forces for ensuring safety during these challenging times. Star Air's pilot and the ATC at the IAF base exchanged messages of thanks, symbolizing the nation's appreciation for their bravery and service.
