In a bold step to diversify its portfolio, Samsung Electronics has announced the acquisition of FlaktGroup, a renowned German heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) company, for a staggering €1.5 billion. This acquisition from European investment firm Triton marks Samsung's ambitious entry into the global HVAC sector.

Building a Foundation for Future Growth

TM Roh, Acting Head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics, highlighted the strategic importance of this acquisition. "Through the acquisition of FlaktGroup, an applied HVAC specialist, Samsung Electronics has laid the foundation to become a leader in the global HVAC business, offering a full range of solutions to our customers," Roh stated. The tech giant anticipates sustained growth in data center demand, driven by advancements in generative artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, autonomous driving, and XR technologies. The deal is expected to finalize within 2025.
