CAIT Announces Nationwide Trade Boycott

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has declared a nationwide boycott of all trade and commercial relations with Turkey and Azerbaijan. This decisive move comes in response to their recent expressions of support for Pakistan following India’s Operation Sindoor.

Impact on Trade and Cultural Exchanges

As part of the boycott, Indian traders will cease imports from these countries. Additionally, Indian exporters, importers, and business delegations are discouraged from engaging with companies or institutions based in Turkey or Azerbaijan. The boycott extends to Indian films shot in these nations, with warnings against corporate entities conducting product promotions or ad shoots there.

Call for Policy Review

CAIT plans to submit a memorandum to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of External Affairs, urging a policy-level review of all commercial ties with Turkey and Azerbaijan. This action reflects the Indian trading community's view of the situation as a betrayal, especially considering past support from India during their crises.
