US Safety Regulators Probe Fiat Chrysler's Massive Recall of 1.2 Million Ram Trucks Over Safety Concerns

Investigation Launched Into Ram Pickup Trucks Recall

The United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has initiated an investigation into Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' (FCA) recall of 1.19 million Ram pickup trucks. This action comes in response to potential safety risks associated with the Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) system in vehicles manufactured between 2013 and 2018.

Reports of Incidents Prompt Safety Review

According to the NHTSA, the Office of Defects Investigation has received 14 user complaints and reports of six fatalities and injuries. These incidents are allegedly linked to the BTSI system failure, which could lead to unintended vehicle rollaways, posing a significant risk to public safety.
