BP Strikes Deal with Catom: Sells Dutch Retail and EV Charging Business to Focus on Core Operations

BP's Strategic Move in the Netherlands

In a significant move to streamline its operations, BP plc has announced the sale of its mobility and convenience services, along with the bp pulse operations in the Netherlands, to Catom, a Dutch company. This deal encompasses approximately 300 fuel stations, 15 electric vehicle (EV) charging hubs, and a fleet business, marking a pivotal step in BP's $20 billion divestment strategy.

Expansion and Focus

With this acquisition, Catom is set to broaden its OK retail network to more than 400 locations. Meanwhile, BP is sharpening its focus on its core business areas. The transaction, which is awaiting regulatory approval, is anticipated to be finalized by the close of 2025.

A Statement from BP

"We have developed a premier retail and convenience business in the Netherlands. However, as we realign our downstream operations in line with BP's reset strategy, we believe a new owner will best propel our Dutch business forward," remarked Emma Delaney, BP's Executive Vice President of Customers and Products.
