BMW Reports a Slight Dip in H1 Sales but Sees a Surge in Electric Vehicle Demand

BMW Group's First Half Sales Overview

The BMW Group has reported a slight decrease in its total sales for the first half of 2025, with a 0.5% drop to 1,207,388 units. Despite this, the company has seen a significant increase in the sales of electrified vehicles, which grew by 18.5% to 318,949 units. This includes a 15.7% rise in battery-driven electric cars (BEVs).

Second Quarter Highlights

In the second quarter alone, the group's sales saw a modest increase of 0.4% to 621,271 units. Electrified vehicles continued their upward trend, adding 10.2% to reach 161,462 units.

Milestone Achievement

Jochen Goller, a member of the BMW AG board of management, highlighted a significant milestone: "We have delivered our 1.5-millionth fully-electric vehicle in the second quarter. This achievement underscores the BMW Group's transition from an electric pioneer to a leading player in the BEV market, now offering over 15 fully-electric models."
