HYDERABAD: A Strategic Acquisition
GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL), a subsidiary of GMR Airports Ltd (GAL), has made a significant move by acquiring a 70% stake in ESR GMR Logistics Park Pvt Ltd (EGLPPL) for approximately Rs 41 crore. This acquisition means the GMR Group now holds a 100% stake in EGLPPL, as the remaining 30% was already owned by GMR Hyderabad Aerotropolis Ltd (GHAL), a wholly owned subsidiary of GHIAL.

Expanding Hyderabad's Logistics Horizon
Established as a joint venture between GHAL and ESR Hyderabad 1 Pte Ltd on January 8, 2020, EGLPPL has been instrumental in developing 1.7 million sq ft of industrial and logistics infrastructure around Hyderabad international airport. This strategic acquisition is a testament to GMR Group's commitment to enhancing airport land development (ALD) in Hyderabad, aiming to solidify the city's status as a premier logistics and warehousing hub.
Vision for the Future
Pradeep Panicker, CEO of GHIAL, emphasized that this acquisition is a crucial step towards transforming Hyderabad airport into a comprehensive hub for integrated logistics and industrial development. Similarly, Aman Kapoor, CEO of ALD at GMR Group, highlighted the move as a milestone in building a world-class, airport-led industrial and logistics ecosystem, promising to drive economic development and innovation in the region.
