Vietcombank has reported a slight decrease in the dollar's value, selling it 0.04% lower at VND26,310. This adjustment comes as part of broader market movements affecting currency values globally.

State Bank of Vietnam's Response

The State Bank of Vietnam has responded to these fluctuations by increasing its reference rate by 0.05% to VND25,131, signaling its stance on stabilizing the currency market.

Black Market and Global Impact

On the black market, the dollar experienced a similar trend, slipping 0.04% to VND26,490. Globally, the U.S. dollar has retreated from a two-week high against major currencies. This shift follows President Donald Trump's latest tariff announcements, which have had varied impacts across global markets, notably causing a significant slide in Brazil's real.

Currency Index and Major Pairs

The dollar index, a measure against six major peers, saw a 0.1% decline to 97.286, continuing its downward trend from the previous day. Meanwhile, the euro and sterling have seen gains against the dollar, with the euro rising 0.2% to $1.1747 and sterling adding 0.2% to $1.3612. The dollar also fell against the yen and Swiss franc, highlighting its broad-based weakness.
