Marking a significant milestone in the electric vehicle (EV) industry, Panasonic Energy, a subsidiary of Panasonic Holdings Corporation, has officially commenced operations at its new battery plant in De Soto, Kansas, as of Monday.

Boosting Production Capacity and Job Creation

The Kansas Factory is set to dramatically enhance Panasonic Energy's production capabilities in the United States, targeting an impressive output of approximately 73 GWh once fully operational. The facility has already begun mass-producing 2170 cells, with ambitious plans to escalate production to 32 GWh annually in the near future.

Economic Impact: Beyond its technological advancements, the plant is a boon for the local economy, expected to generate 4,000 direct jobs and a total of around 8,000 jobs, underscoring Panasonic Energy's commitment to fostering employment and innovation in the region.
