Goals and Implementation

With a focus on districts lagging in agricultural productivity, the scheme aims to enhance crop yields, promote sustainable farming practices, and improve irrigation and post-harvest storage facilities. It also seeks to facilitate agricultural credit, ensuring farmers have the necessary resources to thrive.

The initiative will leverage 36 existing schemes across 11 departments, alongside state-level programs and private sector partnerships, to achieve its objectives. District Dhan Dhaanya Samitis, including progressive farmers, will tailor strategies to local needs, aligning with national goals like crop diversification and water conservation.

Monitoring and Expected Outcomes

A digital dashboard will track progress through 117 key performance indicators, with Niti Aayog and Central Nodal Officers overseeing implementation. The scheme anticipates boosting productivity, creating livelihoods, and moving towards self-reliance in agriculture, thereby uplifting national agricultural indicators.
