George Mason University Korea Launches Innovative English Immersion Program for Local Elementary Teachers

Empowering Local Educators Through English Immersion

George Mason University Korea (GMUK) has successfully concluded its '2025 Elementary English Short-Term Immersion Teaching Program', aimed at enhancing the English teaching capabilities of local elementary school teachers. This initiative, part of the university's Executive Education program, was designed to strengthen the professional skills of educators in the Incheon area, focusing on global and local competencies.

A Collaborative Effort for Educational Excellence

Running from July 14 to July 18, the program was a collaborative effort between GMUK and the Incheon Office of Education, targeting the improvement of English language instruction. The curriculum was developed by experts from GMUK's TESOL and Education departments, including Professors Antonio Covello and Jason Ham, offering a variety of practical, immersion-based activities.

Building a Global-Local Educational Infrastructure

Joshua Park, GMUK's representative, emphasized the program's role in establishing Incheon as a hub for global-local education. By providing specialized English education for public officials, corporate professionals, and university students, GMUK aims to expand practical partnerships and enhance the region's educational infrastructure.
