Blockchain Innovation Meets Healthcare Data Security
CHENNAI: In a significant boost to blockchain technology applications, Plenome Technologies, an IIT Madras-incubated startup, has successfully raised Rs 6.5 crore in seed funding. The investment round was led by Ovington Capital Partners from Luxembourg, UAE-based AADI, and seasoned investor Manish Gandhi.

Founding Visionaries: The startup was co-founded by IIT Madras faculty member and serial entrepreneur Prabhu Rajagopal, alongside Vijayaraja Rathinasamy and Anirudh Varna. Their mission is to harness blockchain technology for enhancing privacy and security in data management.
Targeting Global Healthcare Markets
Plenome is setting its sights on the healthcare sector, with initial focus on the US, UK, and UAE markets. These regions were chosen for their mature regulatory environments, which are conducive to the adoption of innovative data security solutions.
"With the rise of AI, the risks associated with data security have escalated, including threats like data poisoning," Rajagopal explained. This underscores the urgent need for robust data protection mechanisms.
Developing Cutting-edge Solutions
The startup is actively developing an AI-SaaS platform designed for structured record creation and insight generation. Trials are currently underway for an AI-based electronic data capture system within the dental healthcare segment.
Emerging from IIT-M's research on automation and data engineering, Plenome is also pioneering a distributed AI protocol. This innovative approach enables multiple agents to collaborate in solving complex problems, marking a significant leap forward in AI and blockchain integration.
