LIC's Strategic Investment in SBI

In a significant move, LIC has invested ₹5,000 crore in SBI's ₹25,000 crore Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP), marking a substantial increase in its stake in the banking giant.

Global and Domestic Investor Participation

The QIP was subscribed 4.5 times, with 64.3% of bids coming from global investors, who were allotted one-third of the issue. Domestic investors, led by LIC, secured two-thirds of the allocation.

LIC's Increased Stake in SBI

Following this investment, LIC's stake in SBI has risen by 28 percentage points to 9.21%, underscoring the insurer's confidence in the bank's growth prospects.
