Unions Rally Against TCS Layoffs
IT employee unions have condemned the layoffs as unlawful and are advising affected TCS staff not to resign under pressure. The Karnataka State IT/ITeS Employees Union has called for the withdrawal of the layoff plans and the reinstatement of affected employees.
Support and Compensation for Affected Employees
TCS has stated that departing employees will receive notice period compensation, severance packages, and continued insurance benefits. The company also promises job placement assistance and counseling to help affected staff transition to new opportunities.
TCS's Stance on the Layoffs
TCS CEO K Krithivasan clarified that the layoffs are not due to AI replacing jobs but are a result of skill set incompatibility. The company remains committed to hiring skilled professionals and becoming a future-ready organization.
