European Commission Accuses Temu of DSA Violations
The European Commission has taken a firm stance against Chinese e-commerce platform Temu, accusing it of failing to prevent the sale of illegal goods, thereby violating the Digital Services Act (DSA). Preliminary findings highlight a significant risk to European consumers, who may be exposed to banned and unsafe products.
Investigation Unveils High Risks
An ongoing investigation, initiated last October, has brought to light concerns over non-compliant baby toys and unsafe electronics available on Temu. The platform was asked to detail its consumer protection and public health safeguards amidst these allegations.
Temu's Chance to Respond
While these findings are preliminary, Temu has the opportunity to address the accusations as the investigation continues, in collaboration with the European Board for Digital Services.
