
Warner Bros Discovery Announces Strategic Split
In a groundbreaking announcement on Monday, Warner Bros Discovery revealed the new names and leadership appointments for its impending separation in mid-2026.
Two Distinct Entities Emerge
The film studio and streaming division will retain the Warner Bros. name, encompassing Warner Bros. Television, Motion Picture Group, DC Studios, HBO, HBO Max, and Gaming Studios. Meanwhile, the cable networks sector will be rebranded as Discovery Global, overseeing CNN, TNT Sports, Discovery, and the Discovery+ streaming service.
Leadership Transitions
Gunnar Wiedenfels, currently the CFO of Warner Bros. Discovery, is set to take the helm as President and CEO of Discovery Global. David Zaslav, the current president and CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, will continue his leadership journey as President and CEO of Warner Bros.
