Southwest Electric Power Hosts Groundbreaking Cybersecurity Event

On the 29th, Southwest Electric Power Company, in collaboration with Hanjun KDN and Encore IT Solutions, hosted the 'Online Cybersecurity Experience Conference' at its headquarters in Taean, marking a significant milestone in fostering cybersecurity talent under the 'National Cybersecurity 10,000 Talent Cultivation Project'.

Engaging the Next Generation of Cybersecurity Experts

The conference was divided into general sessions for employees (18 teams) and student sessions (7 teams), aiming to assess participants' cybersecurity capabilities, highlight outstanding practical skills, and promote the growth of cybersecurity talent.

Participants engaged in various challenges, including penetration testing, web security, and reverse engineering analysis, showcasing their problem-solving skills in simulated real-world scenarios.

Awards and Future Opportunities

Nine teams were recognized for their excellence, with an awards ceremony scheduled for September at the Southwest Electric Power headquarters. Additionally, student participants will receive opportunities for further education at the Southwest Electric Power Cybersecurity Center.

Looking ahead, Southwest Electric Power plans to continue its commitment to cybersecurity talent development through programs like the Early Career Exploration Program, enhancing information security awareness and social contribution activities.
