Mountain Forest Survey 2025: Unveiling the Future of Public Data Services in Forestry

Public Data Services in Forestry Receive High Approval

From June 19th to a two-week period, the Mountain Forest Association conducted a survey titled '2025 Mountain Forest Public Data Release Needs and Utilization Status'. The results, announced on the 29th, revealed that 8 out of 10 respondents positively evaluated the mountain forest public data services.

Survey Highlights and Participant Feedback

The online survey involved 403 participants across 18 items. Among 277 respondents with experience using public data, satisfaction levels were high, with 'very satisfied' at 45.85% and 'somewhat satisfied' at 36.1%, totaling an 82% satisfaction rate.

Applications and Needs for Mountain Forest Public Data

Out of 398 responses regarding the purpose of using mountain forest public data, checking information provided by mountain forest resources (30.9%) was the most common. Other applications included business management (16.83%), public policy analysis (15.08%), and academic research (14.82%), accounting for 46% of the total.

Data Needs Across Various Fields

From a total of 670 responses, cultural information (33.73%), economic and ecological zones (26.57%), and disaster prevention (21.04%) were the top needs for mountain forest public data.

Future Directions and Strategic Value

The survey also highlighted potential applications such as predicting changes in forest resources, disaster prevention monitoring, and supporting mountain-related businesses. These findings underscore the strategic value of public data in forestry management and climate change adaptation.

The Mountain Forest Association plans to use these results to enhance data release and quality management systems, including AI-powered data services.
