Wistron's New Chapter in India
Following the sale of its Karnataka iPhone facility to Tata Electronics in 2023, Taiwanese manufacturer Wistron is setting its sights on Telangana for its next big investment. With a proposed investment of Rs 1,000 crore, Wistron plans to establish a new electronics production unit focused on non-iPhone hardware.

Focus on Servers, Routers, and Switches
The company is currently scouting for the perfect location in Hyderabad to manufacture servers, routers, and switches. This move marks Wistron's continued commitment to expanding its footprint in India, despite past challenges.
Beyond iPhones: A Diversified Portfolio
Wistron's expansion strategy includes a Rs 1,450 crore laptop manufacturing unit in Bengaluru, expected to start operations by January 2026. This facility will not only produce laptops for various brands but also IoT components and EV-related parts, with over 50% of its output aimed for export.
Wistron's Multifaceted Presence in India
Operating through three subsidiaries, Wistron is deeply embedded in India's tech landscape. From import-export services and maintenance to developing internet platforms and focusing on automotive electronics, Wistron is diversifying its investments and contributions to India's growing tech ecosystem.
