European Markets Open Lower Amid Earnings Reports
Major European stock indexes started the day mostly lower on Wednesday, as investors turned their attention to the latest earnings reports from leading companies. Notable among these were Porsche and Mercedes-Benz, both of which reported significant drops in revenue compared to the previous year.
Performance Highlights
The CAC 40 remained flat at the opening, while the FTSE 100 saw a decrease of 0.44%. Taylor Wimpey plc was among the hardest hit, falling by 4.60%. Meanwhile, the DAX and Euro Stoxx 50 experienced slight declines, with Adidas leading the downturn after reporting adverse effects from U.S.-imposed tariffs.
Currency Movements
Both the euro and the pound showed little movement against the dollar, maintaining stability in the early hours of trading.
