Revolutionizing Public Safety with AI
The National Railroad Administration of South Korea has announced the introduction of an 'AI-Powered CCTV Certification System' on the 30th, marking a significant step forward in public safety and surveillance technology.
How It Works
These intelligent CCTV systems utilize artificial intelligence (AI) technology to detect and immediately report unusual activities such as falls, fights, and collapses in real-time to railway operators, aiming to prevent accidents before they happen.

Collaborative Efforts for Development
Following a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) in December 2023, the administration has been dedicated to developing a specialized certification system for intelligent CCTV in railway environments.
Future Plans
The administration plans to establish related standards and guidelines to prioritize the introduction of intelligent CCTV certification products in railway sites, enhancing the overall safety and security measures.
Official Statement
The director of the National Railroad Administration expressed high expectations for the system, stating, "The introduction of the AI-powered CCTV certification system will enable quick and accurate detection and response to safety accidents, significantly improving public safety."
