IndiGo's Bold Leap into International Skies
Marking its 19th anniversary with a significant global expansion, IndiGo announces the launch of daily non-stop flights to London Heathrow starting October 26, 2025. The airline will utilize leased Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, marking a pivotal moment in its international growth strategy.

Strengthening Global Connectivity
With plans to induct five more Dreamliners this financial year, IndiGo is set to enhance its long-haul operations and connectivity to major global hubs. The London route represents a major advancement in the airline's wide-body operations, as it aims to significantly increase its international presence.
CEO's Vision for the Future
"As we celebrate IndiGo’s 19th anniversary, we are immensely proud of our journey and excited about the future," said Pieter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo. He emphasized the airline's commitment to expanding its global footprint, one airport at a time, starting with daily flights to London Heathrow.
Expanding Premium Services
IndiGo is also extending its business-class offering, IndiGoStretch, to more routes, including Singapore–Delhi, Singapore–Mumbai, Delhi–Dubai, and Mumbai–Dubai, enhancing its premium travel options.
Aiming for Global Excellence
Recognized as the ‘Best Airline in India and South Asia’ by Skytrax, IndiGo is focusing on premium travel and long-haul connectivity. The airline's wide-body fleet strategy is bolstered by converting purchase rights for 30 Airbus A350s into firm orders, totaling 60 A350s.
Future Destinations and Partnerships
Beyond London, IndiGo is preparing to launch flights to Copenhagen, Athens, Siem Reap, and four Central Asian destinations by FY26. The airline has also expanded its codeshare partnerships, including with Jetstar, KLM, and Japan Airlines, to improve connectivity across Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and North America.
With a fleet of over 430 aircraft and connections to 90+ domestic and 40 international destinations, IndiGo continues to lead with the world’s youngest aircraft fleet and top on-time performance rankings.
Strategic Growth and Optimism
Despite challenges like aircraft groundings and oil price volatility, IndiGo remains optimistic. The airline is diversifying its fleet and entering into operating leases and OEM agreements to mitigate risks, aiming to increase its international capacity share to 40% by FY30.
