Artificial intelligence startup ElevenLabs, renowned for its voice generation technology, is stepping into the music industry with its new service, Eleven Music. This innovative platform enables users to craft custom music through the power of AI, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.

Strategic Partnerships for AI Training

Co-founder and CEO Mati Staniszewski shared that ElevenLabs has secured agreements with Merlin Network and Kobalt Music Group to utilize their music catalogs for AI model training. These partnerships aim to enrich the AI's understanding and creation of music, with hopes of extending collaborations to major music groups like Universal Music Group, Sony Music Group, and Warner Music Group.

Ensuring Creative and Ethical Use

While Eleven Music offers the freedom to generate any music genre through simple English prompts, ElevenLabs has implemented safeguards. These measures prevent the creation of songs that reference specific artists, lyrics from protected works, or contain content deemed violent, obscene, or unlawful, ensuring a responsible approach to AI-generated music.
