Hyundai's Strategic Move Towards Local Sourcing for EVs
In a bold move to cement its leadership in the electric vehicle (EV) segment, Hyundai Motors India is set to significantly increase its sourcing of components from local vendors. This strategy aims to bolster the company's price competitiveness and ensure long-term sustainability in the rapidly evolving EV market.

Localization of Key EV Components
According to the annual report 2024-25, Hyundai plans to prioritize the localization of critical EV parts, including battery cells, packs, power electronics, and drivetrain. This initiative is expected to enhance the company's operational efficiency and reduce dependency on international suppliers.
Expanding EV Infrastructure
To further accelerate EV adoption, Hyundai is committed to expanding its network of public charging stations. The company aims to increase the number of fast-charging stations from approximately 100 to 600 within the next seven years, making EV ownership more convenient for consumers across India.
