Urban Migration Elevates Salaries and Housing Demand
Internal migration to urban centers is significantly impacting both salary scales and the demand for housing, according to a recent survey. This trend is evident across various sectors, from white-collar professions to blue-collar jobs.

Salary Increases Across the Board
Salaries in sectors such as IT, finance, and healthcare have nearly doubled for many who have relocated. Similarly, blue-collar workers, including domestic helps and factory employees, have seen their earnings increase by 1.6 to two times.
Shift in Housing Preferences
The migration wave is also reshaping real estate markets in major metros like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. With rising incomes, there's a clear shift towards mid-to-premium homes, with specific preferences for 3BHKs in certain price ranges.
Between 2020 and 2025, property prices in Mumbai surged by 58%, with Delhi and Bengaluru also experiencing significant demand increases. This reflects the broader impact of migration on urban housing markets.
