National Stock Exchange Sees 15% Monthly Growth in Investor Registrations
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) reported a significant 15% monthly increase in new investor registrations for June 2025, reaching 12.7 lakh from 11.0 lakh in May. However, this figure still trails behind the June 2024 registrations of 21.6 lakh new investors, as highlighted in the NSE Market Pulse report for June 2025.

Regional Growth Highlights
Western India led the charge with a remarkable 20.5% monthly increase, while Southern India followed with a 15.2% rise. The Northern and Eastern regions recorded increases of 13.4% and 10.4%, respectively.
State-wise Performance
Uttar Pradesh emerged as the leader in state-wise registrations, accounting for 14% of the total with 1.8 lakh new investors, marking a 13.1% monthly increase. Maharashtra secured the second spot at 12%, with Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Karnataka contributing 7%, 7%, and 6% respectively.
Annual Comparison
The first quarter of 2025-26 saw average monthly registrations of 11.3 lakh, a 35% decrease from the previous fiscal year's monthly average of 17.4 lakh. Despite leading positions, states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh witnessed significant declines in registration rates compared to the previous year.
