India's Remarkable Growth in Electronics Manufacturing
Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced a significant milestone for India, revealing it has become the leading supplier of smartphones to the United States. The country's electronics manufacturing sector has now reached an impressive valuation of Rs 12 lakh crore.

Exponential Growth in Production and Exports
Highlighting the sector's rapid expansion, Vaishnaw noted a sixfold increase in electronic production over the past 11 years, with exports soaring eightfold to Rs 3 lakh crore. This growth positions India as the world's second-largest mobile phone manufacturer.
Local Manufacturing Success Story
From just two mobile manufacturing units in 2014, India now boasts over 300, with 99.2% of phones sold domestically being made in India. The value of mobile phone manufacturing has dramatically risen from Rs 18,900 crore in FY14 to Rs 4,22,000 crore in FY24.
A Vision for the Future
This achievement reflects the government's commitment to transforming India into a global technology production hub, ensuring widespread access to advanced electronics.
