India's Leap into Semiconductor Manufacturing

Historical Challenges and Current Progress

PM Modi pointed out that semiconductor initiatives began 50-60 years ago but were stalled. Today, India is making significant strides with six semiconductor units in development and four new projects approved, aiming for a 'Made in India' chip by year's end.

Investment and Employment Opportunities

With an investment of Rs 4,600 crore, these projects across Odisha, Punjab, and Andhra Pradesh are expected to enhance domestic capabilities and create over 2,000 skilled jobs, marking a pivotal step towards Viksit Bharat by 2047.
