IPL Teams Witness Revenue Dip in FY2025
According to the Economic Times, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) have reported a decline in revenues for the fiscal year 2025.
Mumbai Indians, operated by Reliance Industries-owned Indiawin Sports, saw its profit decrease to Rs 84 crore from Rs 109 crore in FY24, with revenues falling to Rs 697 crore from Rs 737 crore.
RCB, owned by Diageo, reported a significant drop in revenue to Rs 514 crore from Rs 649 crore the previous year, attributing the decline to fewer IPL matches. Profits also fell sharply to Rs 140 crore from Rs 222 crore.
LSG, on the other hand, slipped into losses with RPSG Sports reporting a turnover of Rs 557 crore and losses of Rs 72 crore, a stark contrast to the Rs 59 crore profit on Rs 694 crore revenue in FY24.
The BCCI's FY24 annual report highlighted that Rs 4,578 crore was disbursed to IPL teams out of total earnings of Rs 11,703 crore, with the majority coming from media rights.
