India's Semiconductor Push Gains Momentum
Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw has recently praised India's significant progress in semiconductor manufacturing, marking a pivotal step towards the nation's ambition to become a product nation.

Encouraging Innovation in Chip Design
Highlighting the government's semiconductor mission, Vaishnaw emphasized the importance of developing chipsets with homegrown intellectual property (IP). The Design Linked Incentives (DLI) scheme is a cornerstone of this initiative, aimed at fostering innovation among startups in the chip design sector.
Mindgrove Technologies: A Case Study in Innovation
Incubated at IIT-Madras, Mindgrove Technologies stands as a testament to the synergy between government policy and technological innovation. With support from the DLI scheme, the startup has developed secure IoT chips designed for a range of applications, from CCTV cameras to industrial IoT products under Industry 4.0.
Recently, Mindgrove placed its first mass manufacturing order for these chips, a milestone that underscores the potential of India's semiconductor ecosystem. Additionally, the company's Vision SoC project received a Rs 15 crore approval under the DLI scheme, further cementing its role in India's technological advancement.
