In January, the United States saw a consistent number of job openings, holding steady at 7.7 million, as reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This stability reflects a job openings rate of 4.6%, mirroring the figures from December.
Hires and Separations Show Little Movement
The hiring landscape also remained stable with 5.4 million hires, maintaining a hire rate of 3.4%. Similarly, total separations were nearly unchanged at 5.3 million, with a separation rate of 3.3%. Within this category, quits were recorded at 3.3 million (a rate of 2.1%), while layoffs and discharges were at 1.6 million (a rate of 1%).
