US Goods Trade Deficit Hits $162B in March

According to the latest report from the Census Bureau published on Tuesday, the goods trade deficit in the United States reached a staggering $162 billion in March. This marks a significant increase from February's figure of $147.8 billion, showcasing a rise of $14.1 billion.

Exports and Imports See Notable Changes

Exports of goods in March saw a modest increase of $2.2 billion from the previous month, totaling $180.8 billion. On the other hand, imports surged by $16.3 billion compared to February, reaching $342.7 billion.

Wholesale Inventories Show Growth

Adjusting for seasonal variations and trading-day differences, wholesale inventories in March grew by 0.5% from the preceding month. Year-over-year, the growth was even more pronounced at 2.3%.
