Edible oils giant Lohiya Group has taken a significant leap into the confectionery business by establishing a state-of-the-art biscuit manufacturing facility in Medchal, on the outskirts of Hyderabad. With an impressive investment of Rs 300 crore, this move marks a pivotal diversification for the group since its foray into confectionery in 2022 through Lohiya Confectionery Pvt Ltd.

Facility Highlights and Future Plans

Spanning seven acres, the facility boasts high-speed automation with a current production capacity of 1,000 tonnes per month. Ambitious plans are in place to scale this up to 5,000 tonnes per month by 2028-29. The project, with a four-year capital outlay, is expected to generate 6,000 jobs, including 2,000 direct positions and 4,000 across the supply and distribution network.

Product Range and Operational Status

The plant already has one biscuit line operational, capable of producing a variety of biscuits such as glucose, marie, digestives, rusks, crackers, as well as cream biscuits and crème-filled cookies, showcasing the company's commitment to catering to diverse consumer preferences.
