Encouraged by a threefold increase in its retail health portfolio in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Tata AIG General Insurance Company is setting its sights on capturing a 5% market share in these states within the next two years. Pratik Gupta, head of agency at Tata AIG, highlighted the strategic addition of 15,000 distribution partners to fuel this growth.

Healthcare Costs and Claim Settlement

Rudraraju Rajagopal, head of accident & health claims, pointed out the rising healthcare costs in the region, with Tata AIG achieving a 97% claim settlement ratio in FY25. The cashless utilization stood at 81% in Telangana and 68% in Andhra Pradesh, showcasing the company's commitment to seamless service.

Market Presence and Future Goals

With operations in 51 districts across both states and a robust network of over 1600 hospitals and 14,500 advisors, Tata AIG is well-positioned to meet its ambitious targets. The company's retail health business in the two states contributed to 8% of the industry's total, underscoring the potential for further expansion.
