The Alleged Bribe

Prayas Chakravorty, the accused OIL official, allegedly demanded a bribe from Jyoti Kumar Singh of United Drilling Tools Limited for securing a contract. The bribe included 70 grams of gold ornaments and cash, leading to their arrest and presentation before a CBI special court in Ghaziabad.

The Trap and Recovery

The CBI's swift action led to the recovery of Rs 3.34 lakh cash and documents related to gold purchases from Chakravorty. Searches across multiple locations uncovered additional bribes in the form of gold jewellery, over Rs 30 lakh in cash, and incriminating documents.
